Our Donors
Who has funded our work?
Fanm Limye is grateful for all of our past and present donors!
From 2013 to 2023, many of the donors listed below funded us through Prosperity Catalyst, Inc., a US-based NGO that helped Fanm Limye Association get started. Thanks for the capacity building that we received from Prosperity Catalyst, Fanm Limye Association is ready to receive donor funds directly. We have excellent program and financial management skills and systems. Donors who wish to finance our work through a US 501 c3 may give to us through Global Giving (LINK).
Note: The artwork below is a 2020 piece by Haitian Artist Sully Guttemberg, which we use for packaging Fanm Limye's products.
Security Concerns
Many donors wonder how we can get anything done, given Haiti's current security challenges
Fanm Limye has had to adjust our approach to work around the existing security situation in Haiti, where gangs have taken over large parts of the capital, Port-au-Prince, and main highways in and out of the capital. As a result, we have put a pause on any work with artisans in the capital that involves congregating in one location. Nonetheless, we continue to connect our artisans to Dandarah in Canada, which continues to sell their products. Our work in the rural areas has been much less affected. Our beekeeping and agroforestry work continues to function in all 8 communes where we are active. We have had to source materials to build hives from providers outside of the capital, as a result, some costs have increased; nonetheless, production continues. Our Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) work is only operating in 6 of the 8 communes where we work because of the security risks that would have been posed to beekeepers who had to transit through Port-au-Prince to attend the training of trainers in Leogane. We continue to look for MCHN trainers to the north of Port-au-Prince who can assist us to bring this program to the beekeepers in Arcahaie and Cabaret.
